In order to protect the people and businesses of Monona, our fire inspectors conduct inspections of all commercial and multi-family residential buildings on a semi-annual basis. As part of their inspections, they check that fire protection systems are properly maintained, smoke detectors are operational, exits are not obstructed and flammable liquids are properly stored. The inspections also provide our firefighters with an excellent opportunity to learn about the unique features of each building and proactively plan firefighting operations.
