On April 24, Monona Ladder 3 was requested into the city of Madison for a structure fire. Two engines had to relay pump into the ladder from the nearest unused hydrant.
03/31/2012 The Monona Fire Department honored Tom Kuban and Jon Chrisler for their many years of service. In their long careers, the two have impacted the lives of many Monona citizens. Thank you again!  At the Dane County EMS banquet, Monona Fire Dept received a plaque recognizing 35 years of providing emergency medical services. Chief Sullivan also received a plaque for his 25 years as an EMT/Paramedic. The annual banquet celebrates the lives saved by CPR/CCR during the preceding year.In 2011, Monona had 2 of the county's 24 saves. 
With much gratitude, we thank the Monona Community Festival Committee for pledging to donate a new defibrillator to our department. The Festival Committee is also donating 4 new AEDs for the police department squad cars. The Festival Committee has been very generous to the fire department in recent years, donating a thermal imaging camera and letting us have a "firefighter night" during the 4th of July festival.
