              Become A Volunteer

              Please consider joining the Monona Fire Department. The Department has both paid and volunteer members who provide a valuable service to their neighbors and the community.  As a volunteer you will join a group of dedicated, highly trained men and women who value both safety and community service.

              WHAT DOES IT TAKE TO JOIN?
              • Be a resident of the membership area. This area is larger than the Monona City limits.
              • Be at least 19 years of age.
              • Have a willingness to learn.
              • Have a desire to serve the community.
              • Pass a basic physical exam.
              Note: All applications are subject to background checks and reference checks.

              EQUIPMENT AND TRAINING
              The City provides the latest in equipment and training necessary to make you a firefighter. Training is provided by the Monona Fire Department, MATC and other specialized organizations. Training drills are held on the 1st and 3rd Tuesdays of each month at 7:00pm, and the 2nd Tuesday at 7:30pm.
